Yeah, yeah, I know it's been forever since I've updated. I've been busy, I guess, or lazy or something. Ok, here's the question ... how do all you other moms have time to be updating your blogs all the time? I don't seem to have time for anything these days! In fact, right this moment, my baby is sleeping in the front pack carrier (thankfully), and my almost 3 year old is saying ..."Mommy, what are you doing? Mommy! Mommy! What's this, Mom? Mommy! What's this??" Is there never a moment of peace in the house? When Ethan is asleep, Kaitlyn will be awake and crying. And I only have two! You other moms amaze me! Do you actually still get other things done as well?

Anyway, here's what we were up to during February. We had great snowman weather. We found the greatest thing to use for snowman accessories: "Whacky Pasta" --pasta of different colours and shapes. We made our snowman first, then decided we needed a snowwoman. Well, Ethan decided that these were Daddy and Mommy, so then we needed to make an Ethan (at his request). I waited to see if he would suggest we make a Kaitlyn snowperson, too. I thought it would be a good guage as to how much he liked his sister and considered her a part of the family.

I was pleased and amused when he took the initiative and made a Kaitlyn all on his own (see above picture). It's hard to make out, but the 2 rocks are the eyes the stick the arms, etc. He had her laying down, probably more realistic than the standing version I made of her beside our other snowmen above. I have to say, making snowpeople is very therapuetic ... I recommend it:-) It's also a lot more fun than just standing around outside in freezing weather waiting for your kid to be done driving his tricycle up and down the driveway. So, maybe he really does like his sister? Jane and Elisa joined us for lunch one day ... so nice to have them!

I find it a little disconcerting when my son insists on wearing his sunglasses 24/7, including at mealtimes. It's a little eerie not knowing what he's looking at and what he's thinking ... he's not even 3 years old yet! The rest of the story is that he is total Thomas the Train fan. He is wearing his Thomas pajamas (incidentally the ONLY PJ's he'll wear without a huge scene and ones which you have to pry off his body in the morning when it's time to get dressed), his Thomas slippers (a present from cousin Cole -- now too small, but which Ethan still insists on wearing), and, yes, the sunglasses are Thomas sunglasses as well. Perhaps you noticed the engine sitting beside the cereal box? Yes, Thomas the tank engine, of course. I'm really not sure when he turned into such a fan, but somewhere along the way, my son got an obsession ... there are worse things to be obessed about, I guess.

My sister and her family came to visit in Feb, too. It was actually just supposed to be my sister and her two boys coming, but my brother-in-law surprised her by coming down with his boss partway on Saturday and renting a car to come the rest of the way. My sister was thrilled ... what a great Valentine's Day present!

Rub a dub, dub, 3 boys in a tub. Am I the only one that thinks this looks like trouble??
